What To do When Your Car Meets With an Accident?

So you were having a good drive with a loved one at your side and suddenly something happens and you realize it is a car accident? What do you do? Does your brain run towards all your auto insurance policies? Or do you just sit there and wonder what went wrong?

Well, here we will give you brief run down towards the steps you must take if you ran your car into something or met with an accident involving another vehicle. Nevertheless, it is an accident!

1. Call the police(Police Records As Your Source of Public Records) immediately after your car met with an accident. If the accident was not your fault then you can very well use the police report to claim your insurance. In case the damage visibly see is very minor then the at fault driver might want to bargain a settlement but a piece of advise, be cautious as there could be any major unseen damage to your vehicle.

2. Its always advisable not to get into an argument with the other driver as it would give complicated turns to the accident. Let the traffic police take care of it and decide what is to be done.

3. You may want to note down the driver’s name, vehicle’s registration number and the auto insurance policy number of the other driver.

5. Contact your auto insurance company as soon as you reach home and inform them about the accident with all the details and then take up their suggestion as if you are not at fault driver then they might suggest you to contact the other driver’s auto insurance company.
